Kype Muir Community Fund
This is a new fund that has been created from income generated by the Banks Kype Muir Windfarm to provide support to eligible local projects that provide social, economic and / or environmental benefit. It is be apportioned equally across each Community Council which will be for the benefit of communities in South Lanarkshire within a 10 km radius of the Wind Farm. Priority will be given to support projects in the Community Council areas of Lesmahagow, Sandford and Upper Avondale, Stonehouse, Strathaven & Glassford and Blackwood, Kirkmuirhill and Boghead. County Durham Community Foundation has been appointed to manage the Community Fund on behalf of the Banks Renewables.
Following on from our Community Consultation survey and workshops in 2019, we have developed a Community Action Plan to help prioritise projects and areas that the fund could support within our community for next 5 years. This document will be reviewed regularly to ensure it remains relevant to support the ongoing fund and other activity. We
equally recognise that there may be projects in our rural area which might link with other community council plans.
Sandford and Upper Avondale Community Council forms part of the Kype Muir Community Panel, which help oversee the Fund. Funding will be linked to projects in the Community Consultation Summary and Action Plan, with the document available from by clicking here.
If you wish to discuss your project with a member of the Community Council, send an email to sandfordanduacc@gmail.com or contact one of the members named on the website on our members page.
